Since the merging of the Kranj School Centre for Technical Sciences and The Economy and Service School Centre of Kranj in 2013 the Vocational College has become one of the largest colleges in Slovenia.
The Vocational Colleges of Mechatronics, Informatics and Electroenergetics continue the rich 60-year tradition of technical education in Kranj. Deciding to continue their studies in the field of Mechatronics, Informatics, Electroenergetics, Economics, Business secretary, Social network organizing or Security is an important decision in any student's life. Our study programmes offer professional promotion, specialisation and the acquisition of interdisciplinary skills. We give our students as much assistance as possible, and we realise that their success is also an indication of our success.
Every year we invite applications for regular and open college students of Mechatronics, Informatics, Electroenergetics, Economics, Security and for open college students of Business Secretary and Social Network Organizer programmes. For successfully completed studies, ECTS credits are awarded thus making these higher education qualifications comparable across Europe. In 2014 the Vocational College was awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE, valid for 2014-2020) which enables our higher education students to study or work abroad as part of their degree and staff to teach or train in other European countries.
These are two-year study courses and include on-the-job training at various manufacturing plants and companies where students apply their knowledge in practice. This assures their fast and complete integration in their future jobs. A graduate is well qualified to respond quickly to changing market conditions, set up their own business and holds internationally comparable qualification.
